The 9 note handpan in A Minor has a beautiful bright and resonant sound. The A Minor scale allows for a great deal of melodic possibilities and is a very easy scale to play and create with.

It is also possible to use the other surfaces of the instrument to make percussive harmonics, such as snares and hi-hat like sounds.
